INTRO
A GAP Analysis is a method for comparing your current state with a future or desired state.  It identifies the GAPs between current and future state and helps teams develop a set of actions to close the gaps.  Teams will often use GAP Analysis to review current processes, products, market penetration, and develop specific action plans.  For example, a team may have an objective of “Becoming a Solution Selling Organization”

Notes
The conclusion of the SWOT Analysis is a concise statement of the current Situation faced by the organization - the Strengths & Weaknesses of the organization and Opportunities and Threats faced from outside the organization. However, this is not really a “conclusion” but the beginning of the hard work - determining possible strategies that are supported by the SWOT Analysis and Competencies & Resources that are in place (or feasible once plans are established). Further, the SWOT is never fully “finished” since new revelations are always coming up and there is often some iteration between direction setting and the need for additional understanding not captured in the earlier SWOT summary.
The conclusion of the SWOT Analysis is a concise statement of the current Situation faced by the organization
